Abstract

The legend of the vampire has developed and changed greatly over the centuries. When once vampires were viewed as an enemy to human life and vitality, they are now romanticized and commercialized. In the past, much of what was told about vampires was done so verbally and through some written accounts. Today, much of vampire identity comes from literary works and films that emerged over time. This website will address the shift from past verbal and material folklore regarding vampires to the combination we find today by analyzing vampires, what they have been, and what they are now.
